I have avoided looking for work in Ashland for My own Reasons I just dont want to
work there. There is some very Nice. Fine Resturants there. As I'am beginning to run
out of Places to apply to here in Medford. I decided to go walk around Ashland and look
Around. I found very little Possibilitys there. It was Kind of a Waist of time I guess.
So I spent some time walking around Lithia-Park. When I was Growing up in Jacksonville.
My Parents took Us Kids up here to Lithia-Park every Year. We had a lot of Fun. It has Changed
a little since then. Where You see My Car Parked here is Acctually the Ice-Skatting-Rink.
I'am not sure how it works. But this Parking-lot here apears to me to be the Skatting-Rink.?
Interesting. Well first I will walk over to the Park which is just across the Street.
And then down through the Park into Town. Lets Go.
Before I could even get across the Bridge I notice a couple of Ducks just comming
out of the Creek. They are very un-afraid of People. Later on we will see a lot
More Ducks farther to the South end of the Park. From here I begine to move East
Through the Park and eventually into The Shakespearian part of Town.
And then on to Down-Town.
I have now entered the Down-Town area. This is where The City of Ashland allways
has so many Flooding Problems. A Big on on New-Years-Day in 1997. If You could
see the Big Picture here You would know why. Anyway It is about 11:30 a.m. I waited
that Long before comming up here Purposely because lots of Businesses dont
open up untill after 11:00 a.m. So Here I'am. I Begine Walking South. Just
Following the Main Drag Through Town. All Most every Place I Found was NOT
Taking any Apps at this time. Its Kind of the Same Story I have been finding
everywhere. NO one is Hiring untill Summer time. I wouldnt be a bit suprised
If I start getting a Bunch of Calls after the first of April from all these Places
I have applyed at since December. Well I Cant Put any Hope in that. I Got to find a
Job NOW. I'am so Board NOW. IT was Really Nice Taking a couple of Months off. Sure.
But It has whent Past that Now. GOD Is Taking Care of Me and My House very Well.
I Dont have to worry about that. I know HE is going to continue to take care of Me.
I'am Honestly Just Running out of things to do at this Point. I hate to say this but
I'am getting kind tired of being at Church. I'am there allmost everyday. And These little
Hiking/Picture taking Trips are Fun. And there is a lot of Places I could be going all over
Oregon and Northern California. But the Excitment has gone out of that Now. For the first Month
or so I was layed off My Job of 16 Years. I did Projects around My house. cleaning things. But then
I found My self Vacuming And Cleaning Carpets that didnt Need to be cleaned. I was Wearing them out
Un-necessarily. ((I'am sorry. I'am getting way off the Track here..)) Moving right along now.
I began walking South. Lets go there. It was a beautifull Sunny-Day. A little cold.
I have now walked back down to The Town-Square You could call it. I was a bit
disapointed in what I didnt find. I decided to walk up this Ramp going in to
The Shakspearinan Square. Meeting. Area. Place? I dont know? There were some strange
People up here. I Guess I must have looked a bit out of Place. But No Problem.
Now I'am back down to where Lithia-Park begins and The Town-Square ends.
Now what do I do.? go Home.? Naaa. Lets go walk around the Park now. It goes
Quite a bit to the S/W.. I havent been up there for Years.
Well back to The Car now. To Get a Bottle of Water. Camara Batteries. What ever
I need. I did look up the Ashland Ice-Skatting-Rink. And this is it. right here.
Now a Parking-Lot. It operates during the winter time. I dont know how they do it.?
somehow they Turn this Parking-Lot into a Ice-Skatting-Rink.
Walking back over the Bridge I had crossed a few hours ago. I'am back into the Park.
There are My Duck Freinds agine. There is a nice Well maintained Trail that will Follow
The Creek up into the Ashland-Watershead. I dont know how far it goes.? today I'am going to
Follow it a good Mile. Along the way we will see Deer. And Beautifull Senery. The Creek. And
what ever. The Fence You see in the Pictures was never there originally. It has been added
to keep Off-Trail Hiking to a Minumim. Lets walk The Trail Now.
Well I had walked the Trail along the Creek as long as I wished to. So Now
I have crossed the Creek and going to start back down the other side. Basicly
that will go along the Road. What ever it is called.? Soon I come to the Big
Duck-Pond. I didnt see any Swans.? I Remember Years ago Swans in this Area.
I wonder why Not now.? Oh Well. These Ducks. And there is alot of Them Are NOT
Very afraid of People. I Sat there for Quite awhile. And they Treated me like I Was
Made of Stone or something. It was a Nice, Peacefull, Compfortable place to take a
Break.

This Duck We see in the Picture. apears to be in trouble.? No. There is just
something very interesting to this Guy under the water. The entire time I
was Here this is what He was doing. Well its time to leave the Duck-Pond.
I dont want to sit here on this Bench to long. I have had a good long walk today
and the longer I sit here. the Harder it will be to get back up and get going.
So Lets continue walking down the Road to the Car.
We are getting down close to where The Car is Parked. This We see in the Next
Picture is a Out-Door-Theater. It has allways been here. It stands out mostly because
it is Painted Pink. The Area is Well Maintained. So Everything looks good.
OK Now we come to the Lithia-Water-Gazebo Building. I didnt get pictures of the
Building from this side because of a Group of People stanging right there. Got a shot
or two of it from the other side earlyer. The Lithia-Water is Suposed to be some sort
of Spring water from Years ago. Its just Horrible I think. I wont drink it. As You
can see in the Pictures. It has a very strong RUST color affect on everything it
touches. I dont know.? It must be safe to drink.? But I wont touch it. I think
it is Terrible.
Just about back down to the Car now. It's time to go Home. I didnt Notice these
Houses or I think part of the Shakespearian Stuff up there on the Hill before.
The Park is Straight ahead throught those trees. Well time to go. It was a nice
Walk in the Park...
