I had spent some time up here at Applegate-Lake last week. Hiking, Picture taking,
Had a Great time. Now that Jr is Back and has time on His Hands. We decided to come
up here togather and spend sometime walking around this Big Beautifull Lake. We started
this Day out Meeting at The Church Early in the Morning for the Morning Service.
Great way to start out Your Day. So we got up here to the Lake about 8:30 a.m. I Guess.
And Here we are out on the Tower. It was kind of Cold. Not to bad today. We decided to
go for a good long Hike on this day. Taking the Lakeshore Trail from the Tower to the
Hart-tish Park area. Seen here in some of the Pictures. Where You see the Big Boat
Ramp going down into the Water. That will be about a Half Mile. Mabe a little farther
from the Tower. Should be Fun.
Jr saw a big Pile of Drift wood sort of under the Tower & climbed down
there to find us a Couple of good Walking Sticks. In all the Hiking and
Walking I have done. I never Realized the Importance of Carrying a Walking
Stick. As I discovered on this Day. It really Helps to carry Atleast one
good Heavy stick. Cool. While I was still on top of the Tower I noticed
Someone Starting a fire down along the Hwy below the Dam. Had a good
Plume of Smoke going there for awhile.
Jr & I have began the walk from the tower to the Boat Ramp. It's really not
very long of a Hike. But a little bit of a Rocky Trail. There was alot of Sight
seeing to do along the way. So it took a long time. A very Nice, Plesent Walk.
This was also the Day a Storm would begine to Roll into the Area.
The sky on this Day was filled with a lot of interesting looking clouds
And they were moving fast across the Sky. As We will see in our Hiking-Trip-Pictures
the Next day at the Big-Foot-Trap. It will Rain all day during that Hike.
In these Next Three Pictures. We have Progressed very slowly to nearly the end of
the Trail. And then the Next thing I know. We Ran across this Huge old Stump
Practically right in the Middle of the Trail. I Remember it from before.
It had been growing there for Uncounted Decades. And Must have been cut
down about the time of the Dam being Built. 1976. Jr, Having worked for the
Forresty Department many Years ago. He knows something about things like this.
He was telling me about this Old Stump. And then He began to Count the Rings of
the Stump to determine the age of the Tree. Interesting.? yeah. But I was
Board with it and wanted to move on. I whent down the trail a ways and took
More Pictures. Then walked back to Check on Jr. Guess what He was still doing.?
In these Next 4 Pictures. We have reached the Boat Ramp area. Hart-Tish
Park is just on the otherside of all the Cars' Trailers, and Junk You see there
in the Parking lot. There is a Gift-Shop, Store, Restrooms, There are
People over there right now working. Getting Things Ready for the Spring-Time-Opening.
The Trail we have been walking Ends right where the Boat Ramp begines.
The Trail Evendently goes all the way around the Lake? Not sure about that.
I know it continues on from the Park. I have never walked that. And in the last
Picture here. We See Jr has found a Nice Big pile of Debris and is searching for
more Walking sticks.
Now I have walked part way down the Ramp. found a Nice place to sit.. On
What I would Guess to be a Floating Dock? It has a big Piece of Cement
tied to it. What eles could it Be.? I sat here for a little while and
Ate what Lunch I had brought with Me. Jr had been exsploring the area
to the South. Now He is on His way down the Ramp. We hung around there for
A while. Made a YouTube Video. By this time the Weather was getting nice
and warm. We hated to Leave. But it was time to start back to the Car
Parked way down at The tower. At the end of the Boat-Ramp. You see the
big long floating Dock. It to is tied to a Long Rail running the entire
Lenght of the Ramp. The Foating dock will follow the Water level from
the top of the Ramp. To the bottom where it is now.
The Last Three Pictures of Our Trip. This First one is about half way back
down the Lake-Shore-Trail. You will suddently Run across this "Survey Mark"
along the Trail. Its kind of hard to Miss. But if You are moving along fast
You Might. And in the final two Pictures. We are back at the Car. Parked at the Tower.
Its time to dirve Home. Was A good Day. Jr and I will sometime Return here
to the Lake for More Out-Door-Hiking Fun...
