My Beginning on Earth
Here I'am. Brand Spanking New. A Month old I was. That is my Dad Holding me.
Mom told me. The Day I was Born. At what is now RVMC. She layed in Her Hospital
Bed and watched it Snow outside The Window. Mabe that is why I love the Snow so
Much. I was Born on 4/20/60
Agine with my Father. I remember Him being a very Kind loving caring Man
in the Beginning. But that would change as time whent on. He distroyed His
Life with Ciggarretts. Sad.
My Grandpa Shell. Sitting and Holding me in What is Now My Solid Oak Rocking
chair. I would Be about a Year and a Half Here. That is the old Cabin
My Mother Grew up in. Way at the end of Forrest Creek road. I do have some
Memories of the place. The old wood stove. The Out House. And the Creek
that Ran close by the House. By this time mom says they had Electricity
but not Running Water.
All most 50 years later. 11/19/09. Here is Shell's Old Rocker sitting
In my Living room. Love that old Rocking Chair.
Here I'am agine less then a Year old. The very first House I Remember
was in about 1965. And that House would be just a few blocks away from
where I live right now. But before that I Guess we lived in two other
places here in Medford. I dont know what Place we are at in this
Picture.
I Guess I must have been haveing a lot of Fun in the High-Chair on this
Day. I see a Hanging Brass Wall lamp Behind me. It looks very familiar.
I still have them in my House.
That is Me being carried by Mom. My Older Brother John is there. In the
Hoodie Coat. I Remember that Coat and Hood. from that time. Probably later.
We must have been up on the Ranch duning this Picture.
An Early family Portrait. But not everyone is here. "july 1964" is what
the back of the Picture says. This is the Ranch on Forrest Creek. From
Left to Right. (Adults) One of Shell's Brothers. Bob Or Joe Hale.
Grandmother Hale. Shell Hale. Grandma's Brother Joe Johnston. My
Mother. Someone eles.? and My Dad. (Kids) Me. My Brother John. Mom
Holding my little Brother Rodney. And Mom is Pregnant with my Sister
Christy.
Just us now. Me infront of my Dad. I dont know about the Dog. And I guess
that must be our Car behind us. I dont Remember. But I know its a 63 or
64 Chevy Impala.
The Date on the Picture is "March 1965" So that would Probably be The
First House I Remember. The House that was only a Block and Half away
from where I'am at now. The House has been taken down but the Propertie
is still there. I remember everytime I drive by. That is my Little
Brother Rodney looking at what ever I was doing down there on the
Floor that day.
The Date on this Picture is "April 61" So I must be the One year old
Looking Fellow sitting on Mom's lap. This is taken at the Ranch on
Forrest Creek in the Cabin. I Remember Very well the Funiture.
The Big Chair and the Sofa was a Really Dark Green. and it was a Very
Heavy Matirial by todays Standards. But I Remember to this day.
The way it Felt. Behind my Mom on the wall is a Calendar and it says
1960. I allso can see Hanging there on the wall above the Callendar
is Mom in Her Wedding Dress. Infact I see two pictures of Her in Her
Wedding Dress. Right.? Its hard to see now. Must be a small Wedding
Picture with Dad. The People in the Picture are. starting from
Left. Aunt Helen. shell's Neice. Her Husband. Glenn.? I think.?
There Son.? Agine I think His Name was Davey? My Mother and Me.
My Older Brother John sitting on Grandma Hale's lap.
The Next two Pictures are Taken at the Same place and time as the
Above Photo. In this one. Three New People have been added to the Photo.
Starting from left Shell's two brothers. Bob & Joe. Or Joe & Bob. I
dont know. And Shell. directly above Shell's Head back on the wall
sitting on that Shelf is there Radio. They never had TV up there.
Only the Radio. And according to Mom. The Radio didnt start untill
They finnally got Electricity in 1954. you will allso notice the one
single Light bulb lighting the Room. And if you look closely you can
see some Deer Antlers hanging on the walls. Mom said Grandma tryed Her
Best to make that little old Shack a Home.
The only Change in this Picture is My Gandma is Gone. And My Dad has
Been added. Here you get a pretty good veiw of the old Oak Rocking
chair. It is Sold Oak. Its in my Living room right now. I have had it
since the late 1980's Mom tells me. when they moved into one of Several
old Minning Cabins. up on Forrest Creek. before they settled into the
Cabin in this Photo. The old Oak Rocker had been left in one of them.
She says that it was found in the mid 1930's So that makes the
Chair Pretty old. I can't find any Markinigs or any information
on the chair. so who know where it came from or how old it really is.?
Nov 1960. I dont Remember this Picture. I was 7 Months old. The Picture
is of Shell's old 4 Door Chevrolet Sedan. You can see the old Cabin
on the other side of the Car.
Our Family Portrait. This would be 1962. Or about's. I'am the One
Preparing for my Navy Career. Dressed in my Sailor Suit
sitting on Mom's Lap.
Here is Shell sitting in the old Oak Rocker. This is taken at the Cabin on
Forrest Creek. I do remember The Cabin. But not really Well. This was taken
before 1965. After that He and Grandma Moved into Medford.
These Next two Pictures are allso taken at the Cabin. The first one. is
from Left to right. My Brother John, Then My Little Brother Rodney,
Then I. The Dog.? I'am not sure if that is Trixe Or not. I think She
was not around untill later?. In the Next Pic. Shell, Grandma,
And Grandma's Brother Joe. We saw Him before as a little Boy.
In this final Picture of this part of the Album. I'am the Poor Guy on the
Left that has been allmost cut off the Picture. Rod is in the Middle.
And John is The Birthday Boy. The date on the Picture is Mar 1965.
John's Birthday is in Late January. So that would be the Developing
Date. That House where the Picture is taken. Was Just down the Street
from where I'am at right now. infact If I were to suddently get up from
the desk here and walk out my front door. Go down the drive way. And
Begine to walk down the street heading West. It would take me just about
4 Minutes to get to the place where the House once stood. Its just a
Vacant Field now.
